The Shelby County Historical Society along with the Shelby County NAACP, The Shelbyville Presbyterian Church, The Ministrel Alliance and First Christian Church have formed - The Shelbyville Community Remembrance Project Coalition (SCRPC), ​a group dedicated to Telling the Story of Lynching's in Shelby County. The group is working toward placing a historical marker on the grounds of the Old Jail on 5th street, with the help of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI). To help To help Tell the Story.
